Opening Friday October 15: Mired in the Bayou

Dot Editions is happy to support an art exhibition that documents the effects of the BP oil spill on one small town dependent on the gulf: Bayou La Batre, Alabama. The prints will be shown in an exhibition that opens this Friday, October 15: Mired in the Bayou, presented by Inhabitat with 99% Gallery.

This exhibition features four artists who examine the Gulf region in the aftermath of the BP oil spill, and includes photography by Reed Young and Michael De Pasquale. These two young photographers delved into the lives of individuals whose livelihoods depend on the Gulf, and how these people have been affected by the disaster. The photographers traveled with journalist Erin Sheehy, who provides audio and text for their photographs. Also featured in this show is an installation by artist Graham Holly, who collected crude oil samples, which became part of his artwork.
