It's springtime: Go Sleeveless!

Recently, friend of the studio Michel Leroy needed to update his portfolio, and came to Dot Editions for some imaging work and printing. After brainstorming a bit, we decided to help Michel go sleeveless. He left the studio yesterday with a completely revamped, gorgeous, sleeveless portfolio that fit right into the existing portfolio binders he already owns.

See for yourself. First, here are the "Before" pictures, in the sleeves:

The glare off the sleeves, plus struggling to get the spreads to lay flat (I had to use some serious fun-tack to get these spreads to lay them open for the photos), do a disservice to the images.

Here are the same images, but printed on the HP Indigo press. The pages were scored and punched with holes for the post binding of Michel's existing portfolio cover.

The binding: pages are scored so they easily lay flat on their own.

The final portfolio is truly a unique and beautiful book. "I've been waiting for this portfolio all my life," Michel said. He has already had great responses from the look of his new book, from fellow photographers as well as other creatives.

This is also a way to produce fine art photography books. Machine or custom binding, soft-cover or hard-cover.
