my new book will be ready (fingers crossed) this Tuesday for the ASMP Portfolio review. I'll also be blogging about the process, the thought and procedures that went into it. its been about a year in the works.

i decided to print the portfolio myself this time. had a couple books (binder) made custom and i'm planning a couple more by summer's end. Any serious buyer/editor wants to look at the book, the print, the presentation and the thought that went into it. yes, you can see most of the images on the web, but the process of holding it, passing it around and sharing thoughts still beats clicking through a website. I dont think the website is a substitute for the book, rather an extension of my work. there are images on my website that dont exist in my book and visa versa. and regardless of whether anyone wants to call it in or not, I worked on the portfolio to better understand my direction, my work and promotions. and printing it myself, makes me aware of all the consistent technical problems i have, that do not show up on an LCD screen.

when the blog posting (along with pictures) is up, i'll post a link for everyone.
